Hi all,
have a couple of questions to ask but I will give some background first.
Currently we have 3 prod servers. 1 for mail, 1 for apps and 1 has sametime on it.
I have upgraded the mail and app server from domino 7.0.1 to domino 8.5.1 fp2. We only have sametime limited use version 7(I believe this is the version) on a domino 7.0.1FP1.
I cannot bring the sametime server down atm as we are going through a massive project and the managers want it up at all times.
So I was wondering if I join a new domino server(have new name, ip etc) to my domain with domino version 8.5.1 and install sametime entry 8.5.1 is that ok. Will I run into problems having 2 sametime servers on my domain.
My plan was once I get the new server working, I would then start to point users to it so that I could decommission the old server with domino version 7.0.1.
All clients are lotus notes 8.5.1fp4 but all users use the basic configuration.
Another question, since I might be upgrading all domino servers to 8.5.2 if I install domino 8.5.2 and the sametime version 8.5.1 will I run into any problems if the other domino versions are still 8.5.1
